CIVICAN
I was a finalist in the 7th edition of the graphic design contest ‘Imagina Civican’, organized by Fundación Caja Navarra, Pamplona, Spain.
For this contest, I decided to create my illustration using a clay modeling technique. I was drawn to this idea as it would attract attention to the mural for which the illustration was designed.
To begin, I created frameworks from paper and wood for the objects in the illustration to support the clay. I then covered these frameworks with clay.
Each object was photographed separately because the final composition required detailed retouching.
Retouching the clay was particularly challenging due to fingerprints and dust that needed to be cleaned up in Photoshop.
After cleaning each piece, I composed the final image and submitted it to the contest.
The entire process took 98 hours, but it was worth it.
